sat 16 sept 06    the dun cow, new york, north shields

you would think that after playing more than 50 gigs, we would have learned to re-confirm.  when guy and i pulled up to the place, the lights weren't even on in the back and there were only two people at the bar, both of them behind it!  we explained we were the band and they thought we were joking!  turns out the place had changed management twice since we last played there in may and they'd just not bothered to tell us!  this wouldn't have been so bad, but the guys from 'PRESIDENT' had come all the way up from middlesborough (1 hour) with their wives to see us!  fortunately, we decided to make the best of a terrible situation.  we convinced the bar staff to turn off the techno and we had ourselves the mother of all jam sessions!

What a great night we had tonight, I don't think I have enjoyed myself since we busked at Temple Bar in Dublin. The unplanned night just added to the whole thing.
