24 july 05    ballast hills, tall ships festival, newcastle quayside

never before had we played at a proper outdoors festival and guy just couldn't resist the urge to yell out 'hello, san francisco!'  unfortunately, the only thing that was san franciscan about the crowd were frogma & neil, and perhaps some old hippies which came to enjoy the show.  pete dodds and big lamp kicked off the afternoon with a cracking set, and we took the ball from there.  despite the low numbers, we were happy with the sound and the experience.  guy was happy to see the singer of acoustica again after 20 years! we also sold a 2 cds.  one little kid came up to the stage after we played 'king of the swingers' from jungle book and said 'i know that song!'  hopefully, they will find a way to attract the rivers of people walking along the quayside as the festival continues.
