25 june 05    the red lion, milfield

our first time to milfield and it was great.  the red lion is a fantastic little pub, with the best food on earth.  iain, the pub manager and chef, was once the head chef at linden hall, and he makes a very mean fish and chips--i'm not joking!  also in attendance were heather and terry from the new inn, a whole party of fans from longframlington, the gliding club and a parrot named 'popeye'.  after the break another bus load of pub-goers arrived, this time a party of very enthusiastic golfers, who particularly appreciated 'king of the swingers'.  one guy even got up to sing 'american pie' with us.  jane managed to sell 8 cds!  afterwards we played round the table to the punters and chilled out until the police came.  a fantastic night.
